Double Bass Upton Bostonian

Hi everyone, I did a search and couldn’t find much about this particular model. Seems like it’s also known as the Bostonian Concert model.

I’m considering ordering one and wanted to see if there were many owners in here. From what Upton has told me this is mostly only sold as a round poplar back and is around 7/8 size. That’s what I would be ordering. Anyone play one? Have sound clips or recordings they would share?

What could possibly make you want to overpay (and wait) for an instrument you have no information about? There are MANY incredible 7/8 basses already in the world maybe start with those.
I get the Upton fandom and appeal to a degree, but this seems unwise.

You should definitely try one before buying!
There's nothing wrong with commissioning a new bass when you've tried the model, liked it and have spoken to the maker.

Don’t worry, this is part of a well rounded search. I’m not in a rush to buy something (I already have a bass that serves me really well), and I’m not just buying blindly because of all the positive Upton reviews. I would definitely try one before ordering and I’m looking at many other basses in person as well.

A TB search for any other Upton model turns up hundreds of results while the Bostonian is comparably lacking, so was just curious for more info from people who have owned/played them.
