Urgent Help Needed

One of the members here suggested I look at amps next because my practice one is insufficient. In a moment of lucidity, I have chosen not to do this because

1. I have no business playing in public at this point. Gotta rebuild the skills.

2. I really know nothing amp amps, proper wattage, ohms, and the like.Even this G.A.S. addict can see that purchasing anything at this point would be dumb. However, once the knowledge is bestowed upon me...

Welcome! I highly recommend you pay your $20 for a TalkBass supporting membership. Then you will have full access to buy, sell and trade from fellow members in the buy, sell and trade forum. Much less chance of getting junk here than eBay. Nicer people to deal with, too. And then you can be like the rest of us - kind of a constant flow of gear in and out, and the sales of stuff you've grown tired of will partially offset your purchases of stuff you've decided you need!

I am now not only a supporting member, but a gold supporting member. Good enough?

You might want to take a look at the link in my sig.
Probably won't help your G.A.S. but will get you some info to help you along your bass journey.

Great the you're a Gold Member now! :bassist:

Not to be rude, but none of you have been ANY help. The general feeling I get is that this addict needs to handle his problem by going DEEPER into his addiction. Brilliant.

By the way, what's the wattage on the B15?

There really is only one thing you can do.
Take up a different hobby or don't fight it.
Well one last thing. You could get married.
That should slow things down a little.
Maybe?

I think you need to spend your time and energy playing. Either at a gig, or build up your skills and then look for a group to join. There's lots of good free lessons on youtube, sometimes they can be a bit scattered, but you can find some good tips from real pros. And when looking for lessons, don't always go for some flashy technique, look for some good theory based exercises, ones that will get you familiar with the fret board.

GAS sucks though, and I think it's uncureable. You just have to distract yourself, and the best way is by playing.;)
