US Masters

So I was thinking of, in the months ahead (tax return time), purchasing a custom bass from these guys. I spec'd one out, and for between 1100 and 1400 bucks, I could have a 5'er that crushes or equals basses twice the price. The only thing I'm not crazy about are the Sperzel tuners.

Does anyone have experience with US Masters instruments?

I've got a US Masters Guitar. Really nice instruments. Very well built. But for $1100-$1400, you have a lot of options. I wouldn't say it's any better built than my Carvin for example, which also would let you build a nice instrument for that kind of money. That price also brings into play the MIA Fenders, Lakland Skylines, nice used ones etc.

It all depends what floats your boat, but for $1100-$1400, the previous poster is right on, AFAIC. I'd buy a US Fender(1st on the list), or a Carvin. There are alot of choices out there for that kind of cash, I've just spent years flipping through the Carvin catalog and wishing, lol.

I've also been very,very curious about these basses. I'm a real sucker when it comes to all the "high-quality,more for your money,underdog companies" (Carvin,Peavey,U.S.Masters).

BTW,does anyone know where some good reviews (besides Harmony-Central) can be read/seen?

I had a passive P-coil bass from them years ago.
