sterlings are the same prics right? cus im in Berlin on holidays and i went into this guitar shop and a sterling was 1900 euro, is this normal or way over-priced? thanks lonny for doin all that research and stuff.lol

It really does, for Mr Ball, he can charge his European dealers whatever he likes, why let the US dealers sell 'em across the ocean cheaper?
He still wouldn't make the any cheaper for you though, I fell your pain though, it would be great to have a better price on US brands, and availability to match, I was up in Dublin last year, disgraceful price on Fenders.:scowl:
Check Dolphin Music, I like dolphin, good peeps, ships all over Europe, and often they beat the German's too price wise...

lol, cool, yeah i really just want some decent pickups for my mexican. i played an american fender jazz and it had really crappy pups too, do all fenders come with these really pickups?
Depend's on what tone your after, I like'd my MIM's pickups, its why I kept them for another project, any idea what you need?

well i want a distintinguised tone, that cant cut through a alot of noise(guitar playing)lol so basically a sting-ray.lol

I'd guess that Di Mazio's would work, the split coil humbucking jazzez.
But a Euro is only worth 70p or something like that - so it's cheap to us in England!
When the Euro first came out it was so weak against the pound I was getting great deals by buying from European retailers on things like Strings and small accessories!
It's evened up a bit now though...
And that's why we all need to focus on the USA for our G.A.S. solutions..
Seriously, if you are looking for a 'higher end' bass, and you don't mind second hand, check the Ebay, Talkbass and other ads, preferably brand specific.
It will always be a bit 'uncertain', but all transactions I have had via the Web went very well, and there is not much difference between receiving a shipment trom someone in the States compaired to e.g. a shipment from me in The Netherlands, is there? It will always take too long..
Find someone who sells something you like, and via the pre-sale discussion and your gut feeling you should be able to tell if the deal is okee/legitimate etc.
