Used Aguilar

Hello,

I am looking to get an aguilar tone hammer 350 head with an sl112 or db112 cab (I know the db112 is heavier). Down the line of course, I will be getting a second 12 inch cab, or even a 4x10 cab.
New aguilar gear has a hefty price tag, so I was wondering if used aguilar is worth the investment. Obviously, sellers of second-hand aguilar swear that they are in good condition etc. etc.
Unfortunately, the local music store mostly stocks markbass stuff but I don't want to be limited to markbass gear. Stores that stock aguilar are a bit far from where I live. Any tips are welcome! Thanks!

The SL/DB cabs are slim pickings (if any) in used, but did see a TH350.

If you’re asking whether the gear is solid and won’t break down on you, I’d say yes, based on my experience Aguilar makes good reliable gear. I wouldn’t hesitate buying their stuff on the used market.

The issue with cabs is that you don’t know how rough previous owners were with them so you might be getting speakers that are beat. Make sure whoever you buy from has a solid return policy.

I've had really good luck with used Aguilar gear and have a ton of it. I would just be cautious of obvious signs of abuse like huge dents in the outer shell or rusted case screws. Case scratches usually indicate heavy gigging but that doesn't bother me. I have run a used TH500 non-stop for months in a studio setting without issue.

Yeah, I have checked and looked around.... may have to go for new.... Hopefully got enough stuff to sell lying around and hardly being used in the house to generate the costs for new gear...

So TH350 head used should be fine used, but the cab(s) might be worth getting as new.... Makes sense probably. Thank you!
