Maple neck, wenge boardThat may well be steal of the year 2015.
Wenge neck?
My first Warwick bass...bought it brand new in a blow-out sale here in VB. IIRC, I paid $569. Never could find a serial #. Story has it that it was one of the two demo basses (...the other was blue) belonging to Dana B. Goods. Runs nose-to-nose with the wenge Streamer for the most comfortable Warwick necks IMO. Great purchase!
Clarification: this is probably not the same bass but you never can tell. Sold mine to Kristian in Iceland.

300!? Are these German made? The retail price on a new Dolphin is insane...
And hey, yeah... a little over 10 years ago I sold a 76 P for $200.
Jeez. That was probably 3 large new. What a deal
These are the MIJ Dolphins. All passive. I don't know if German Dolphins are passive or active.
These weren't anywhere near $3k new. There were a couple on the Craigslist local here for $600 and they sat for months unsold.
Either way, $300 is a steal !
Mine was active...don't know the country of origin. Never heard of a passive MIJ Dolphin II, though. I'm betting the OP's is sporting aftermarket EMG's / harness.

It has it's i think stock 9v compartment, just the pick ups are EMGs
It's a separate compartment.IIRC, the control cavity cover is not flush / counter-sunk. Refresh my memory: is there a separate 9v compartment or does everything reside within the control cavity? If she's fully passive, you may want consider adding an EMG BTC (stacked knob) preamp. They're relatively inexpensive...think I paid $55 for my last one NIB.
