Used Peavey T-40

here it is

it's odd how things work. I had a white t40 (most ive seen were natural), and the thing felt and played like a piece of... perfectly made bass!!! The fit and overall finish (including frets) were simply great. However, for one reason or another (mainly weight) i didnt ever play her out. And ended up selling her. And ever since ive been ric-less i've been gassing for a t40!!

Nice purchase - any sub-$300 T-40 in decent condition is a safe bet. It looks just like mine which makes it post '82 or '83 (sometime in that time frame Peavey stopped drilling the pickguards so that you would have a white dot next to each to knob.)

The exposed blade magnets in the pickups also mark this as a later model.

Just be aware-these babies are generally HEAVY! Mine is on the lighter end of the scale at about 11.6 lbs but I've heard of them weighing as much as 13+ lbs.

They are tone monsters, though!
