- Interaural Time Differences (sound will appear earlier in the ear closer to the source due to the distance between your two ears; distance = time delay)
- Head-Related Transfer Function (sound will appear clearer/brighter in the ear closer to the source due to the filtering of higher frequencies from the mass of your skull)

If a soundwave's length is longer than your head is wide there will be no Interaural Amplitude Differences nor Interaural Time Differences; however, unless that soundwave is a pure sinewave, the upper harmonics of that soundwave will still be filtered by Head-Related Transfer Function, allowing you a somewhat compromised but still semi-reliable degree of localization.
