Using a PA fold back from amp?

Just thinking out loud, my amp can push out a 4 ohm load or 2 ohm load (Marshall vba400)... On that basis I could run a 4x10 behind me at 4ohm and a full range PA monitor in front at 4ohms? ( given its speaker rating is up to it) taking it down to 2 ohms.
My question being, I have a fold back monitor for general vocals etc but bass doesn't cut through, could I get a dedicated fold back wedge to connect to my amp to have purpose bass foldback in front of me by using my amp?

How bassy do you like your bass?
It might work fine it you play real trebely but you might cause bad sounds if you play real low.
Separating your bass sources by so much will lead to the noise reaching different ears around the room at different times. This could lead to phase issues like wave reinforcement and cancellation. I would guess having the wedge pointed back at you and not the audience would help this, but it is generally preferable to have your low freq sources all coming from the same point in a room.

+1, having the bass come at you from in front and behind can do more harm than good. if you can't hear a 4x10 it's not because it's not loud enough, it's probably because you don't have ears on your butt cheeks. Tilt the cab back so that it aims at your ears.

Thanks guys, I think I just need to tilt the cab back so I can hear it ;-)
