I have a crate bx160 POS. Anyway tonight the amp fried. The speaker is still good. Could I take out the head and use it as a 1x15 cab?

Using an old bx160 as cab

If you need a cabinet, I would do it.
If taking out the head leaves any holes, you might want to seal them.
Keep watching ebay and sooner or later you might see the head (without the cabinet) for sale.
