Using "Tape Outputs" on mixer to record??

Found this, its 16 channels.
Let me get this straight, A mic (vox1) OR guitar/bass would go to the input of the FCA1616 THEN the output would then go into the mixer. With the FCA1616 going into the computer recording 16 tracks, is this right??

The Zoom R16 is meant to be a stand alone studio recorder. Not really usable as a "live" mixer/recorder. If your mixer has individual outputs for each channel you could record up to 8 channels at a gig. But if you're just talking about making a live recording at rehearsal then the R16 would replace your mixer. You can record your tracks directly to the R16 on an SD card (and later import to your computer) or you can use it as an audio interface and record directly into Garage Band.
I have a Mac desktop at home so it's not practical to bring it to our rehearsal studio. Recording directly to the R16 is a much better option for me and I can still edit all tracks in Garage Band at a later time.
It's not the best solution out there, but if you're on a budget it's a great product.
