Using the GK Mb500 as poweramp?

Anyone let me know if I'm not getting this right. In theory, this would bypass the internal preamp and I would get ONLY the Ampeg pedal and no Preamp tone from the MB500?

Right, just make sure the signal is hot enough - that return should be expecting line level, where odds are that pedal is probably outputting at instrument level. Probably won't be a huge deal though, just something to consider if there are any issues.

Does this mean I only use the Master Volume on the MB500? That's where I'm confused. I would think the only active control would be the master volume, and all the tone controls are not engaged.

Depends on what channel you're using. Boost also comes after the return, so you'll be able to still use that functionality as well as the masters.

The limiter is also post-return FWIW.
