Finally cranked the V4b today with my goliath 2 4x10 that I had, with our guitar player and vocalist, and it has absolutely no shortage of volume whatsoever. With the gain up I had the master at 3-4 tops and it brought down the house. I was pretty pleasantly surprised, the cab tone sounded STELLAR too; I never thought I was working with a cab that was capable of sounding that good. It just needed a great amp behind it. Looking at a preamp potentially now and I think I'll be good to go. Saving some serious $$ not needing a new cab!

Have you tried diming the master and turning up the gain until your bandmates yell at you? That's the proper way to set an Ampeg
Anybody tried a V4B with a pair of GK Neo 1x12's? That's likely what I'll use if I get one. Another possibility is a Bergantino CN212 but I'm kinda worried it won't sit on top of that cabinet properly due to it being not as wide as the V4B- probably would sound good though.
Of course, I could use all 3 cabs at some point if I'm feeling ambitious and I get them all in the same space together...

Definitely like the sound of just about any amp through my CN212, but yeah it's a very wide amp on a fairly narrow/tall cab.

Band mates, neighbors, friends, family all have yelled. I tell them..."that' when it sounds best" then they something. To which I respond.. WHAT???
