Perfect is an understatement.
Greatness… is more apropos. It set a new standard and a new book was written… the book.
Where I come from there's no such thing as 110% and perfect is perfect; there's nothing greater than perfect.

Van Halen isn’t a “flats” type of high power and output… flats are a bit too limp for VH.Discuss .. I hear flats..
Steve Harris would disagree that flats are a bit too limp for VH???Steve Harris would disagree I think...
Yeah... you have heard of Iron Maiden right?Steve Harris would disagree that flats are a bit too limp for VH???
You don't get it i guess.Yeah... you have heard of Iron Maiden right?
VH is limp compared to IM on the HEAVY scale. If FLATS work for Maiden, they would work for VHYou don't get it i guess.
Thebiggestjerk said flats are a bit too limp for VAN HALEN. No one talked about Iron Maiden...Then you say Steve Harris would disagree...that flats are a bit too limp for VH. W T F?? Or am i missing something?
It's a very bad example.VH is limp compared to IM on the HEAVY scale. If FLATS work for Maiden, they would work for VH
Jeez.. that is not what I said..It's a very bad example.
So would you ride a horse instead of a car because it still works for some people who don't have a car?
Even if Steve Harris would really disagree that flats are not for Van Halen, I don't think Michael Anthony would care...
TruthVan Halen 1 - flats or rounds
it really makes n little to no difference because on most Van Halen songs the bass is buried in the mix.
Perhaps… Ted Templeman had Ed under his thumb to some extent.Ground breaking for EVH/Guitar sure, but the album overall, I would have to disagree. They sacrificed a lot to make the guitar sound what it was.
Steve Harris wasn’t in VH, it’s a completely different dynamic and show, and it’s a straw man position.Steve Harris would disagree that flats are a bit too limp for VH???
That was my point too. Look back what post I referred to. The other user replied to you that SH would disagree not me...Steve Harris wasn’t in VH, it’s a completely different dynamic and show, and it’s a straw man position.
Isn't the bass on Fair Warning mostly Ed with a Steinberger bass? No. Not on the first 6.
This is a good take. VH1 sounded like it had to, to make a big splash, but I far prefer the less-hyped sound of Fair Warning and 1984. Blasphemy to some, I know.Ground breaking for EVH/Guitar sure, but the album overall, I would have to disagree. They sacrificed a lot to make the guitar sound what it was.
No, not on every song.Isn't the bass on Fair Warning mostly Ed with a Steinberger bass?
No, not on every song.
