velcro blues

i have a board i made out of wood, its all really nice but i cant seem to get around this issue. the hook and loop strips of the Velcro stick together so damn hard that every time i try to move my pedals, either the patch underneath the pedal comes off or the whole strip on the board comes off

so in order to fix it i NAILED the strips of velcro into the wooden board but the other half of the issue remains. how do i make sure the velcro doesn't come off the pedals? i have been using the strongest glues i knew. should i take off the black plastic kinda covers at the bottom of boss pedals? anything you can recommend?

I had the same problem, and I came to the conclusion that I needed far less velcro on the bottom of the actual pedal than I had. I basically started out with the whole bottom of the pedal covered, but now I've got a few smaller strips on the bottom of each pedal and they hold just fine, while still releasing when necessary.

i thought of the same. so from two strips i went to one strip... but still its not under control. and the strip is less than a inch in width

Put a half inch strip at the top and a half inch at the bottom. On my Blowtorch, I have 1/4 strips on four sides so the battery covers aren't vecro'ed closed. That little bit holds just fine.

ok thanks! i'd again try going for even lesser Velcro and if i can find a stronger glue

Also, try using the end of a butter knife to help lift the pedals off rather than just yanking on them. Push the end under and kind of twist the knife a little. Lifts the pedals right up and leaves the velcro stuck.
