Velcroing pedals to the pedalboard

I never take off the ones that are glued, just add an extra layer of velcro by sticking them to eachother back to back. And the ones that are screwed I take off & keep in the box, so they can be put back on if need be (in case of resale).
Depends on the pedal and size of the rubber bumper. FWIW, I generally avoid using conventional Velcro but opt, instead, for 3M Dual-Lock. I've found it at Radio Shack amongst other sources.

I always take the feet off along with anything else that's on the bottom if it can be done without leaving a mess. From my experience, the Velcro patches adhere better to bare metal. When applied to a rubber bottom (or foam like on EBS pedals) the seal never lasts and the pedal inevitably comes loose and bangs around in the case. Ex: BBE Sonic Stomp or Opto Stomp pedals have a large, unevenly surfaced rubber pad that covers most of the bottom in lieu of individual feet. You can peel this whole thing off with little to no residue if you go slowly. EBS pedals however, I don't even try to remove anymore. That foam is attached with industrial strength glue and removing it is a hideous experience. No amount of goo-gone will get it all off. With EBS I use the double-backing methods mentioned earlier in this thread. But if I can get a completely even, empty surface free of feet, rubber pads and/or foam backing that's my preference and I almost never have pedals come loose.
if you take the feet off and don't what to lose them do this: 1) take feet off 2) rap them with tape 3) tape the hole bundle inside the effect. replace them when you sell the sucker.
i did this with my sublime cause it has those big 1/4 inch rubber nubins you find on the bottom of must amps.
ps. to remove the foam try a putty knife and a heat gun. remove the base first of course. i have never done this on a pedal but that's how i got some foam backing off of a re paint " non-musical project i was working on.
