Same here-I had two d strings come apart at the top where the string is glued into the part that goes around the tuning peg; once on a jazz gig and the replacement in an orchestra concert. It was NOT due to the nut being cut incorrectly-if anything, the slot is too wide. They need to come up with a different way of attaching the strings to both ends if they want to keep selling them. it's a shame, because I and my bass both really like the Animas; I just can't afford to take the chance on breakage. Also hat's off to the folks at Lemur for being really helpful.
