Hello everyone, I have some questions about Velvet.
Mostly I play in orchestra and sometimes solo, so I play about 90% arco or more.
I have never played any single string made by this brand. Eventhough I love the pizz sound of Velvet, especially the Garbo, wondering if I could play one set of them in orchestra.
Many said that Garbo is not good to bow, while Blue or other series(anima,180,360?) are good.
If strung as orchestra strings, do they have sufficient volume? Sufficient punch and projection? Can be heard clearly in low, fast passage? Will they buzz or rattle under great bow pressure? How does it feel like when it comes to high high thumb positions like Bach or Bottesini?
I found a video here, and I can't see any wrong with being bowed. But there's no comparison to other brand on one instrument; and still I am curious about the higher register and great pressure.
Thanks !
