Versatone pan o flex copies.... Are they there?

I realize I'm three months late here, but contrary to popular belief, Jack's Versatone only had a single 12" speaker as opposed to Carol Kaye's which had two.

The Dean Markley Vintage Amps site is long gone, but here is an archive of the the Audio Guild section, courtesy the waybackmachine, which describes various models and configurations of the amps produced by Audio Guild, including the Versatone models:

So the conclusion is.... I cannot buy a copy of these amps new from any manufacturer? Just like with Dumble and trainwreck and stuff like that?

Correct.

If you are intrepid and willing to invest the time and money: You could search for a used Audio Guild made 4x7591A tube guitar/accordion amp (including other brand names: Titano, Lyric, Grand Prix, Bonham, Universal), as those are more common and much less expensive than the Versatone bass amp. They do not sound the same as the bass amp, however. The Versatone bass amp is actually a simpler circuit with many fewer parts than the guitar/accordion amps (e.g., no reverb and vibrato circuits in the bass amp). Because it is built on the same chassis and transformers, you potentially could have the guitar/accordion version modified to the bass amp version -- if you can find someone who knows how to do that. Note: It is not only the amplifier circuit that makes the Versatone bass amps sound special, it's also their tuned, internally ported speaker cabinet with a custom made acoustic suspension 12" speaker by Utah (also out of business).
