I have played a few Fenders recently with very nice low B strings--MIA Precision Deluxe, MIA Jazz Deluxe, and Marcus Miller 5. I have also played a few in the past that I was not impressed with--MIM Jazz 5's, mainly. And I have owned Roscoes, Modulus', and F Bass', so I have a pretty good idea of what a "good" low B string is like.
From what I have seen, the MIA Fender 5's seem to have no trouble hitting the mark in the low B string department, at least the newer ones, anyway.
