I too am not a big fan of his solo music, but I love the Flecktones.

Great clip! The Flecktones fantastic! Nearly everything Wooten does in this context of this band is so tasteful in my opinion. They are the my defining modern "Jazz" band. I greatly enjoy 99% of everything they do.

I also agree that Victor's solo stuff is cool but not my cup of tea. However, when he plays with the Flecktones and I hear Bela Fleck and Jeff Coffin playing it's a whole different realm for me. The band as a whole is phenomenal IMO, even Future Man, although I love real drums better.

For me it's more like "Oh sweet, the flecktones are on Conan" instead of "OMG Victor wooten's on Conan!". I love the flecktones, though I admit Victor is what attracted me to them.

Agreed! Very appropriate with Christmas only 3 days away. Jeff Coffin was whaling on that soprano sax! Wooten played well but I am sometimes bothered by his fretbuzz on his basses. I know it is nice to have your strings that low...but I can't stand to hear the buzz. Great show!

I've never been a big Victor fan, but I gotta say I enjoy his work with the Flecktones. What he's done for the bass in the past few years will probably prove more than what any of us will accomplish combined. His taste and tone are exactly that, his, you don't like it- don't watch it.
