No need for flaming. Everyones got an opinion and if everyone could accept that the internet would be a better place..
its not like hes going on the show tonight to give us all insight on how to play the bass guitar and show us all just how fast he can wank and teach us techniques. hes going to be on the show attempting to play music with bela and the flektones.
I don't deny his obvious virtuosity and talent, but at the end of the day that means less than nothing to me because I have still yet to hear him write or perform an original piece of music that I find anywhere near as profound as the hype and credit he receives for being a virtuoso.
I am not trying to rain on anybody's parade, I just dont understand the excitement surrounding him sometimes. its all about the MUSIC, and his is subpar IMO.

I do love W-00-10 though! I've seen him and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones 3 times and absolutely love them. Victor is who really made me want to push myself to learn the bass better.

I too am not a big fan of his solo music, but I love the Flecktones.

Oooh thanks man, I think Victor is fun to watch if anything, and hes a cool character as well. Plus I love Conan and Victor is gonna be better than 99% of the people who usually play on that show!

He's been on there before but I think it's been a few years. I think I still have an old tape of it laying somewhere around here.
I like Wooten he and Bela are phenomenal players but if I'm not gonna go out of my way to watch them perform one song on a TV show. If I catch it then I catch it, if I don't then its no great travesty to me either. If it were an entire concert then I'd make sure I tune in for it.
