Victor is playing Hartke now. Ampeg is going down the tubes...time to move on. He did the same thing when ADA went out of business.

I know Victor isn't a very tall guy, and it looks like the rest of the guys are about the same as Victor, but doesn't Conan look like a freakin' giant!!!! LOL!!!

Too bad they have to stoop so low for exposure as to be on that show.
I swear you could shine a flashlight in Conan's right ear and read the paper out his left ear with very little dimming effect on the light.

im glad you guys enjoyed the music. I am not trying to pollute the thread so I am sorry if I bothered anyone. I just like to think we can all share our opinion about music without taking it personally.
That was really funny LOL. You need some more exposure to this music and you'll get past the looks. IMO this is rare and good network TV exposure for an out of the main stream group. I love these guys live they are awesome.
I would suggest with great confidence, that if another player, say Tal, Stanley, Les, etc were a performing on Conan, that there would most likely be discussion, but we would not see anywhere near the negativity or the dichotomy of opinions.

In this case, he really is taller than the band, but an interesting thing- they arrange the set to where Conan always looks to be the tallest person on stage. Not hard, because he's something like 6'5, but when they have really tall people like Shaq as a guest they'll take out couch cushions and such.
I just saw it and I enjoyed it. My wife's a big fan so I think I'll get her the cd for Christmas, even though it won't be here until afterwards. I didn't know anything about it until I saw that clip.

I know sometimes I have trouble watching things on nbc.com for some reason, so if any of you do too, go to hulu.com. They post the entire episode the day after it airs. My boy and I watched it this morning. I'm not a huge Wooten fan, but we both really enjoyed his playing.
Anyone notice the audience cheered only after HIS solo? Kinda cool!

I saw them last night.. I think they sound great and Jeff Coffin stole the show in my opinion.
I have to be honest though, I'm glad to see "Future Man" starting to at least incorporate some acoustic drums. I dont keep up with them much so I dont know if its new or not. But, as creative as it is, I can't stand that electronic drum thing he has. As time, its sounds like you are in the middle of WWII with machine guns blasting all around you or you are popping popcorn (reference the youtube video in post #20 at about 3:15)

That was a fantastic performance and I enjoy Wooten's work with the Flecktones......HOWEVER......
I strongly dislike (I'm apprehensive to say "hate") most bass players solo albums.
I've found that being an awesome technician does not necessarily give you a right of passage to being a songwriter. In my opinion this is most appropriately demonstrated by Wooten's solo material.

The drummer is a brother of Victor Wooten's, he goes by "Future Man". That thing he's playing is his own invention called a drumtar or something, it's basically an electronic drum kit in the shape of a guitar. He's incredibly talented like the rest of the Wooten brothers.

I feel a little hypocritical bashing his invention since I'll sound like that whole crowd who just can't get into the "electric bass guitar". He sounds killer on their CDs.
