It is funny though that this thread has turned into a "Luv Victa // Hate Victa" thread and there's hardly been any mention of the HyDrive stack he's using... I wonder if there'd be more ooo's and ahh's and discussion if he was using some TB "House Brands" :smug:

My post has nothing to do with Vic, just the fact that I love GK with the hartke cabs and I didn't like the new hartke heads.

Im not a huge Vic fan but I enjoyed it. I saw it the other night and just watched the clip again. Jeff Coffin stole the show . Amazing sax work and he has his own sound on Soprano. I liked Vic's playing in that but I agree with whoever said it earlier that its sad they kinda had to play some gimmicky stuff to get exposure. I love Vic's quotes in his solos. I heard a Navy or Coast Guard quote and a Quote from "Ding-Dong the Witch is Dead" from the Wizard of Oz in the middle . Im still in awe of Coffin's playing haha

I saw this in a few posts, I don't get why exposure is such a bad thing. Part of music is about communication, and to me they were communicating. Victor received a big applause after his solo, as far as I'm concerned the more people that realize how hip our instrument is, the better.;)

I didnt say that exposure was a bad thing. Exposure is great! Im just think its sad that it takes them playing a goofy gimmicky song for people to realize how legit jazz is.

and yet there are "Jazz" folks who would argue that the Flecktones are no where near "Jazz"... :smug:

I think it was a great representation of who and what Bela and the Flecktones are all about, playing their butts off regardless of the song setting. Whether the song is Festive, Classical, or whatever.

AND.... do ya think it could coincide with the latest release from the Flecktones??? :

I notice one of the earlier posts mentioned a capo? Looks more like he slides a hairband from behind the nut to mute during the double thumbing bit that follows to me.

That "wrong location" stuff just makes me want to use language that would be inappropriate on this forum.

Also, I'd suspect the hairband more as he's mentioned using that before.

Their supporting a holiday project and have done Conan many times before. I don't know if you guys know how many people would love to get mainstream exposure on a network show. Ihave discovered more than a few bands or solo artist I never heard of on Conan although i don't watch regulary
