Vintage vs New amplifiers Your dream Amp?

I'm a vintage tube amp nut. Especially 60s/70s British tube amps. I probably own too many vintage amps already but I have a recording studio so I can justify having them around (or so I try to convince myself...). I've got Hiwatt, Selmer, Ampeg, Fender, Carlsbro, Marshall, Supro, Orange, Vox, etc. but there is still one specific amp that I'm REALLY lusting for:

Matamp Series 2000

I've never heard another amp that will deliver THAT tone!

If I can find (and afford!) one of those in good condition my lust for vintage amps would end (...well, maybe I would want a Blonde Bassman too, I used to have one in the studio and kinda miss it).

I've considered the currently manufactured Matamp Series 3000 but although they are undoubtedly great amps they're not exactly the same as the 2000 so I don't think it would satisfy my GAS completely.

Sadly the Matamp 2000s I've seen for sale were either in horrible condition (literally falling apart) or insanely expensive. And I mean INSANELY!!! I desperately want one but I'm not prepared to sell my house for it, I'm not THAT crazy about amps.

It looks beautiful! I can't afford ANYTHING right now though due to the pandemic. But I'm not sure what we're looking at here exactly? Is this actually built by Matamp in the UK? Have Matamp reissues these recently? A custom order? Or is it a home made clone/lookalike built at someone's kitchen table? It's clearly not a real vintage amp but the face plate has all the vintage details, like the obsolete telephone number. None of the current Matamp models have this (they do make custom face plates though). The fact that the listing doesn't specify clearly the origin of the amp makes me a bit wary...??? It sure seems like a lot of amp for the money!

I always like running the inflation calculator against historic prices. Multiply these by 4 and you’ll get 2020 value. We have a lot of affordable options today plus even the boutique pricing doesn’t seem that out of hand.

Since there has been a lot of discussion on various Vintage amps people used to own, (or wish they had), and the prices of those vintage amplifiers are going for now ...... I wish Vox would make a proper new bass amp with a 15 inch neodymium speaker, using their new technologies and combining it with their classic look.

For ten years my main amp was a 1965 A.C. through a 1981(?) V115 with a Celestion Powercell 15. I loved that set up!

I have a big beautiful puffy Kustom amp sitting in my living room, and thats probably where it will stay, its quite the specimen though. If I had some help to load it and unload it I would love to use it at some outdoor gig just because you know...its cool, and it actually sounds good. But I digress, I dont have help, I'm a one man operation so Bag End cabs and light weight heads it is.

I use a couple of puffy, sparkly 4x8 Kustom columns as computer/rehearsal speakers.
