Vintage-y Delay Choices

Which delay would you choose to get a vintag-y/warm/tape sound?

As the poll says, which one would you choose? I'm trying to decide which one to purchase in the future. I want to get a vintage sound with modulated weird sounds on the delay to create a sort of ambience. Also I want it to be small enough to fit on my pedalboard so don't suggest things like a Timeline or Timefactor and such.

Thanks for the input!

Most of the poll choices are digital, which to me is anything but "vintage". The Carbon Copy is one of the nicest off the shelf analog delay's, but there are other choices, of course. And, many digital delays do emulations of tape echoes- if you like.

the way huge aqua puss is probably your best bet, it along with the Boss DM-2, are the only analog delays on your list. As others have mentioned most are digital replicas of analog/tape tones. That being said, I voted for the echo park, simply because it has 3 settings, and will get you close to what you are asking for, it also has tap tempo, can be had pretty cheap, only downside is that it's inexplicably/unnecessarily heavy for a pedal. Alter ego and flashback are nice because you can design your own delay patch with the software. Let us know what you end up getting.
By the way, I just recently bought a Maude from Fairfield circuitry, but I have yet to receive it. Demo sounds very promising.

price factor bro... it costs around $700.. edit: otherwise i would have suggested the fulltone tape delay :)

Nah baba - I am talking about the MF-Delay MINI-moogerfooger. $200 or therabouts? They are finally in stock here in Europe and I should have mine by Friday. Can't freaking wait. I think Moog absolutely defines the genre and to have a mini-delay at that price point is a no brainer.

I would be curious to hear what people think of the El Capistan. That one looks super interesting to me but then again I have had a Strymon fascination as of late.

I vote for the Endangered Audio AE4096. Talk about beautiful sounding, analogue, lush and full all encompassing delay! That pedal sounds so sweet. The only reason I flipped it was because it didnt have the delay time options I wanted and GAS got the better of me. Its pricey, but what boutique delay isnt?! Ive heard nothing but great things about the Strymon stuff, the Timeline and Blue Sky. I personally use the Hardwire DL8 and the old DOD DFX9. Love that DOD. Does some really cool stuff. The Hardwire has a lot of options as well. I hear some really good stuff about the new Fairfield too as well as the TC Alter Ego x4. When in doubt, you can always go with the good standbys, the MXR or the TC Flashback. All good stuff there.

AD4096 is probably the only delay I'd consider having on my board that doesn't have a tap tempo function. That thing seriously sounds incredible. You had it?? :O Dayum!
My other choice would be Strymon El Capistan. One day I'll grab one of those two.

I have a Space Echo 201 and a bunch of other delays. The 201 is fun but it's a quirky beast, but that's why real tape is the best to me because you actually "play" it. Catalinbread Belle Epoch and MM are great, El Cap is fantastic, Wampler Faux I put on my synth board and I'm ordering an Alter Ego to check that one out. I love my DMB Lunar Echo as well for the take off option. As far as "tape like" I'd say the El Cap takes it. Endless sounds. Strymon just makes great stuff.
