Virginia Bassists

Brent's post makes me think this forum could be a good way to link up bands of similar interest for gig possibilities. I play in two bands, both looking for gigs in Central VA (roughly Staunton to Richmond) we'd be willing to open up or share gigs with other bands if it gets us in the door of good places to play. Likewise, if the right partnership presents itself, we might be able to throw a few gigs your way too.

Band #1 is TigerLily, mostly acoustic, mostly original, folk, with stunning three part vocal harmonies. Link Removed

Band #2 is Failure To Yield, folk rock, classic rock, mostly original, with acoustic, electric guitar, and some trombone. Link Removed

PM me if you are looking for someone to share gigs with.

Hey, so here I am posting again at something close to the last minute, but if anyone local to Hampton Roads from TB shows up at the Peppermint Beach Club Battle of the Bands tomorrow, I would appreciate it. I'll be the guy pimpin' a Dingwall Afterburner I. Come on out and say hello, I'll buy you a beer.

(Disclaimer: Beer buying dependent on your cheering for us, anyway... ;))

I heard you guys talking about Dave at Alpha Music. I have no idea what in the hell you guys are talking about. He has been nothing but nice to me. He was probably joking with you. He does that. But he is a cool dude who helps me out a lot. And the Thunderbird thing? He has a lot of people come in there to play expensive basses who mess up the finishes, so he is just cautious. Lay off him.

I moved to Roanoke a little over a year ago. Cool town (I've lived all over the USA and I like this place more than alot of places.) Great scenery, good location.

But I have a high level of job dissatisfaction, so just in the past weeks I've put in for jobs in many other states.

Not really jazzed about moving, but I gotta do what's best for my career.

We moved from Northern Virginia to Roanoke when I was in
the first grade so I have lived here a LONG time.
Sorry about your job. Good luck in your job hunt!
