Virginia Bassists

You in Virginia? Then you member. Number soon.

On another note, had my chimney swept today - the guy that came out and did it, interestingly enough, is looking for a new frontman and bassist for his local cover band - Link Removed.

I can't do it, I think my band (such as it is) would pitch a real hissy-fit, but some of you guys may find this right up your alley. You don't have to be able to sing, or be the frontman, but singing is a plus.

Shoot them an email if you're interested.

Born and raised in Hampton; played at JMU; living near Chuckatuck now and playing at church in Suffolk.

Trivial pursuit . . . Which guitar store was located on the corner of VB Blvd and Military Hwy. in the dark stained brown building? I think its a church now and somewhat hidden by the overpass? Would've been late 70s early 80s?

My office is literally two buildings away from that intersection.

Been in the area since '89 and I don't ever recall a music store there. There is a church there now that was previously Salvation Army. Is that the building?

Definitely a late 70s early 80s timeframe. I remember the
Ramblin' part, but not Conrads. Definitely the dark brown stained building where the old circle used to be . . .

P.S. I'm looking for a Boss VF-1 -- any ideas for the best 2nd hand (pawn) shop in the Tidewater/Hpt. Rds. area? My Boss CE-2 is ready to go to pasture.

Need to locate a luthier in eastern VA who does quality inlay work. Found a couple in Newport News and one in Verona (!) but unsure of their reputations or quality of work. Its not a major undertaking, just need new FB side-dot and face-dot position markers installed (MOP, whatever). We're talking about one of my nicer basses so I'm hesitant to let just any hack handle it. Call me paranoid.

Let me know if you have anybody in minds. Thanks!

Riis
