Cool thread, me or the Ol Lady have seen NYC she's got a girlfriend that lives upstate. We're planning a trip this coming summer. Being from small town U.S.A. This should help a bunch thanks.

NYC is pretty amazing. I'm just an hour out from there and there was a time where a contract I had took me into "the city" three days a week for a couple of years. And I never ceased to be amazed how something that big and busy could work as smoothly and well as it did.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Boston my old stomping grounds. ("Love that dirty water!") But NYC is definitely something to experience at least once in your lifetime.

To each theirs I suppose. I enjoy living in a "university town" like Boston - or Halifax in Canada.

But that's the beauty of this country - plenty of variety. And they cater to all sorts here. (And lucky for me that they do.)

New Haven. <<SCOFF!!!>> Not even the best pizza in CT.
I do miss the music store that used to be in New Haven. I forget the name now. Had a whole bunch of Roscoe's.
Main Drag Music in Brooklyn is kinda' popular. I think they mainly deal in older (I'm not going to call them vintage) instruments.

It's changed. Sally's is all but dead, Pepe's has franchised all through the state (and into NY - but it's still good), and Sam Ash is about all there is for music. Still some good small pizza places in the area.

NYC Pizza: Pizza Suprema (near Madison Square Garden) or Joe's (near Bleeker)

+1 for Suprema. First place I head after I get off the bus. Can't wait until Dec when I go up again for our semi-irregular Otto's gig.
