Volume Boost?

Hi guys,
Im looking for ways to boost my bass volume in the way of a stompbox. In my band, I play a 6 string and find whenever i go from playing over the B-D strings up to playing higher melodies or tapping on the G and C i lose a lot in the mix.

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this problem. I'm thinking maybe some sort of EQ or Volume boost may do the trick, but im not sure if there's a better way. Or does anyone know of any actual pedals made for this kind of thing?

Have you tried adjusting your action and/or pickups? It's a lot cheaper than buying a volume pedal or boost. Does your head have compression? That's a helpful option, too!

A volume pedal doesn't actually boost your volume as such. It is basically just a volume pot at your feet. The maximum volume through the pedal is whatever you have the volume of your bass set at.

What's wrong with setting all the controls at the maximum volume that you would ever play at the higher melodies and then rolling off the volume (via volume pot or volume pedal) when playing everything else? just asking.

Oh thanks, i never thought of the action and pickups. Ill look into that.
Yeah i was more after something that will boost to a set level rather than swelling up and down witha volume pedal. Cause that means it'll all be guess work when i try and go back down to a normal level.
And I've heard somewhere that playing at less than full volume can effect the sound? Is that right?

Of course it can affect the sound .

An EHX LPB-1 can be found for very cheap. Look into it if action and pickups adjustment doesn't work.

haha thanks, i just realised how dumb that sounded when i re read it lets pretend i wrote tone and not sound then haha
