volume pedal as exp ?

If you have a passive volume pedal you can do it with a cable that has a stereo/TRS plug going to two mono/TS plugs. These cables are readily available as 'insert' cables used to plug fx into send/return jacks on mixers.

This won't work if you have the type of volume pedal that takes power and buffers the signal, you need the simple 'potentiometer in a box' type like the Ernie Ball VP-Jr.
