I think I like the second one from the top the most. All beautiful.
IMHO the spalted maple in the first choice would give it better brightness than the rest

For me, it would be black HW over the redwood by a long shot. Any one of these will look great, though.
Bottom sections of walnut. The redwood is nice too.
The only thing about the walnut is that I have 2 other basses. One is Koa and other is spalted maple. Wanted a different shade other than dark brown.
I'm a sucker for walnut and redwood - so any of the last four would be fine with me. I usually like maple (flamed, spalted or burl) but I don't like any of the above maple options.

That's a good idea - I was wondering about that. It will give you a much better notion of how the top will look. Glad this is moving ahead for you.
I really don't care for the poplar burls unless they are stained a color or burst (like MTD does). Given those choices, coin flip between redwood and walnut. The redwood is more "classy" due to the simplicity, the walnut more complex. I've had a number of walnut topped basses (Rob Allen, Fodera, Smith) and they all sounded good, and depending on the finish, get prettier over time. Black hardware for me - I hate gold and avoid it at all costs. Total personal bias.
You'll also need to think about where the pickups and bridge sit, as that will be obscured/cut out of the top. That would likely take away some of the cool figuring on the walnut, the redwood would have less of an impact.

None of them are black, but I guess you can paint whatever you get black.
