Nope not that one. It was the twin to Jonas' bass; same midi/fretless build. So far as anyones knows, this one and Jonas' are the only two midi double necks built. While there are also a few non-midi double neck basses floating around.

Nothing really unsual except for the color on this one. But I really want to know who owns this! I've seen a few pics pop up over the years.
My first Custom made WAL bass was my MKIII Zebra 4. I think it's from 2006 or 2007, the others WALs I have were bought from Ebay, Bass NW and my Geddy Lee MKII Trans Red was bought from Bass and Beyond (R. Cordova / California). I remember that time was possible to request birdseye maple Fingerboards as an upgrade option. I asked Paul early this year for a possible MKIII with birdseye, He answered me that he isn't offering it anymore, do you know why ? It's so simple to change the rosewood standard FB for a B. eye one.
PS : The orange one is the most Funky Wal I'd ever seen.

The Dumbos are cool for 4s, but in 5 strings I think they add so much info , the 5s looks too strange and funny !

This neck joint is also another "strange Wal" things that can happen ! Does anyone here have a MKII 4 with this kind of neck joint ? Thanks Caca again to help me !Until his explanation I was thinking that my MKII 4 was a mutant bass ! LOL

gonna give these strings a shot when I get home from vacation. made my annual escape from disney world pilgrimage to bass central. let the guy know that i was looking for a set of nickel strings with just a tapered e string and regular construction on the other three. figured they would say "no such string" but turns out that Spector nickels are made to those specs. like PJ (bass42) I have trouble with .105 e strings fitting into my bridge.

haha ! Your bass it's like my MKI 86 Paduak ! It Does not accept strings with a diameter wider than 100 !

This single pickup fretless was very similar to one I had talked to Pete about before he stopped taking orders.
I was on a waiting list.
It never got built.

I really do not understand why those UK' Wal bass owners / Sellers doesn't ship worldwide ! Even to US ! Could anybody tell them that they are loosing a lot of money ! LOL !

If it was possible to ship this bass to US this guy will have at least more U$ 1300 for the bass ! I really can't understand ! Crazy world !
Man, I've been using an Ernie Ball exclusively since 1996 and loved it, but since getting my MK1 almost 2 weeks ago, I can't go back! I'm ruined, these basses are stunning, every inch of it is perfection. I had to take on more work to afford a used Wal, now I'm considering how to buy a new one and not ruin myself financially! *shakefist*
One thing I'm curious about is, the pickups on the 5 and 6 string Wals don't have the same shorter housing around them as the 4 stringed basses, have any of you ever seen a custom 4 string with pickups built the same way as the 5 and 6 string pickups? I've gotten used to the smaller thumb rest, but if I could get something made with more ample thumb placement, it would be ideal.
Also, I've set the guitar up but in order to get the desired string height, the saddles are bottomed out. The strings aren't too low and I'm not getting any buzzing, but it would seem to me that the saddles shouldn't be at their lowest setting at that height, has anyone seen this before?

I've seen a couple: Someone with a MkI had made two rectangular thumbrests on the E side of the pickup cases, and mounted them using the original pickup mounting screw holes so no additional holes were needed. Would be easy enough to make one for each pickup. I also saw one dude made one long thumbrest bar spanning both pickups, and he also used the original mounting holes mentioned above.
Bottomed out saddles. Simple thin neck shim. A couple of my Wals have a factory installed shim.
So havent touched the set-up since owning Miss Beechwood...put on some EB Cobalts today with a proper set-up and WHOA!...she is a singin'!!!

I put the Spector nickels on today, as much as I was digging my dead sunbeams (seriously!), it's good to have a little zing and grind back, these strings seem like they were made for my wal. no squishing required.
