Ya i saw that part too. no other description of the bass such as type of facing, fingerboard, etc or if it even comes with the case... only description/comment "Way better then....."

Looks like another Wenge Wal though. Kinda hard to tell too but FB looks like Indian Ebony, no??

i guess better description and high res pics is too much for the seller, even with the hefty asking price

Check out this odd Mk1, only one pickup, a plate under the control knobs, and it looks like the bridge is all chrome? Plus that finish is unlike any Wal I've seen. It has the two string retainers so I assume it's mid 80's to early 90's?

That's a Pro I and passive. And has a series/parallel switch for the PUP. I think they were made in the late 80's to early 90's. I used to have one but found I really need a neck PUP to anchor my thumb. Great way to find out what just the pickup sounds like.

It's not a MkI. Those were the 2nd generation Pro Bass, they only came passive and with one pickup, and you could have ordered the pickup in either the bridge position or neck position. Also these bodies did not have contours, they're slabs.

My ProIIe refurb is getting close to completion and I want to get a new case to protect it. The old brown one is cool but worn out. Any stateside recommendations that are equivalent and more cost effective that ordering one from Wal?

I assume one fitted for a MkI would work.

Dunc, I was very happy with the Freedom hardshell case(SKB?) I ended up with. My MkI and MkII both fit perfectly and dont slop around inside of it, and its very lightweight.
The last club thread had some pics of alternate cases folks were posting pics of.

I like the Hiscox/Wal case, but between the case price and shipping it cost about $450 bucks when I bought one.

You can get an identical non Wal branded Hiscox case on this side of the pond for about $240, model number if I remember correctly is Pro-II-EBS.

I need to go look but I think this is what I got with my ACG bass. Shame I don't have the Wal here to check the fit.
