Wow great price, but yeah it'll end up costing close to $7500 Canadian with the exchange and shipping, which still isn't terrible considering the condition. Man I'm almost tempted, MkIII's don't come up very often and it looks pristine, if it were something other than that maple I might need to be put in restraints.

Mine is now resting on the bed acclimating to its new environment, as per emailed instructions from Philip. I will post up more pictures later to earn myself a number on the club list. Anyway, I learned that you can completely skip having a check ready for the UPS driver by calling their brokerage department and paying by credit card. You just have to wait until the package has cleared to pay, which for me was this morning.

Hey guys, I'm not in the room often but would like to share.... I sent my 1988 Fretless out to have the fingerboard epoxied by HG Thor guitar labs. He's one of the best out there doing it I was told and he just sent some photos of the finished fingerboard. He says the bass "SINGS" and sounds incredible (he's never done a Wal before).
I will post more pictures of my own when I get the bass back next week and take a few , but I am extremely excited to hear the bass after this mod. I asked that it look like liquid glass and he did achieve exactly what I wanted according to his photos. I can't wait to get my hands on it!!

First off, I hope no one minds the overload of pictures. Anyway, the sun had set by the time my Wal was ready to “breathe” California air so these aren’t the best pictures. I’ll take some pictures in the sunlight when I’m off work next week. After just over fifteen months, I am ready for my number. All I can say is, this bass is worth every penny I spent on it.

That's outrageous. I'd be afraid to play that bass now as it's so shiny!! Superb work there!!

Well it definitely wasn't me. I had the invoice sent to me at 3pm on Wednesday afternoon after talking with Marc.
He even did $5,250 for me and reduced it further to $5k………..damn Canadian exchange rate.

Anyway, I'd still be more interested in a 5 string……but I know the 4's catch more money.

So it was a 2015? Marc from Chicago bass exchange never gave me that detail. I asked him for a photo of the control cavity, but had no luck getting it.

That's crazy. Someone lost some serious cash if it was that new.

Nope never. I'd point my finger at the strings than the tuners. I store my Wals in their cases and when I take em out even if I hadn't touched them in month they're still in perfect tune.
You can certainly try adjusting the tension, but I dont see it changing anything...the gear cant rotate, the shaft keeps it locked into position.

@Phantom Valley does Paul include the stock, non de-tuner when he sends out the bass??

also, if he did, have you tried putting it on? just curious because i bought a couple hipshot EB4s and all of them did quite quite fit well. so just wondering if Paul adjusts tuner placement during the build process OR if the 3 detuners I bought were all just from a bad lot :***:

anyone got EB4's???

I am completely in love with it! I've owned quite a few basses and played even more, but none of them ever came close to this. It just feels effortless to play. As for the tuner, Paul did not include a standard one with mine. I requested the xtender at the start of my build and Paul never communicated that it would require any alteration in the build other than installing it. From eyeballing my in progress neck photos and looking at my headstock from the front the tuner holes appear to be standard. Other than the tiny bit of the switch that sticks over the top, you can barely tell that I have one at all. It fits and works perfectly, which to be honest is why I had him install it instead of doing it myself.
