It's a great collection of unconventional Wal's. I still hate myself for not snatching that black MkIII before you though! Is that first one actually the step bass?

not officially. in the Wal database, it reports that 3059 - "The facings were salvaged from a stately home where they had been a doorstep for 200 years! One of only two produced." I believe 3006 was the other reported one. however being that the one i have is close in age and the figuring is dead simiiar - i'm assuming the one i have is an illegitimate love child between the two.

@Maedros the seller of the black Mk3 was very reluctant about shipping and very adamant about only dealing locally in the UK. it took a bit for them to warm up to the idea of them going through all the trouble of packaging it, checking with their bank for the wire, etc..... not to mention feeling comfortable enough to deal with someone internationally... so don't kick yourself too much - it may have been a different outcome.

It has to be, the facing is identical.

Yeah I know, even if she was willing, the cost pre-shipping was prohibitive, I just GAS for it so hard, it's my end game Wal. As much as I love the basses, I've had a hard time bonding with the light stained ones that I've owned. Been waiting for an all black for a while, I almost got one too but payment got complicated and it didn't happen, I cried.
