Rhonda Smith used to be a big Fender Zone user when she first exploded on the scene backing Prince. I never thought of them as any Wal clone though.
But back in the late 80's/early 90's Fender had a line called the DR Heartfield that featured filter electronics.

Yes he called it Hi Gloss Transparent Blue.. He also did an amazing job on the 12th fret inlay.. It was done all by hand, yet has the precision of being cut out by a CNC machine.. Paul is the Best!!
