Wal Bass Club.

I'm not a member of the Mk3-lust crowd... really don't like it at all lol. I don't even care for the new-fangled headstock... I just like the classic 2+2. I guess I'll just sit in my shed alone with my Mk1 & Mk2 and be a curmudgeon. :-D

There is something more "classic Wal" about the Mk1/2. It's strange because intellectually, I know the Mk3 is a better ergonomic design but emotionally, I find I'm more and more drawn to the Mk2. I could happily live with either but I figure there might be someone out there who feels the exact opposite way that I do and we might be able to help each other out.

Yeah, i agree. When i think of Wal basses, the Mk1 and Mk2s are the basses / images that pop into my head first. That is why i got a Mk2 bass - such a wonderful instrument. The Mk3 basses do look great though, i just prefer the classic look / design of the Mk1 and Mk2s.

I like the MK3, but if it came with the classic headstock....Id LOVE it. good mix of classic/modern Wal. I have a Mk1, but if/when I order a new Wal it will be this combo, the upcharge would be worth it.

at the moment the upcharge would be £375 for a different style headstock.

i love both Mk2 and Mk3, so i'm in the BOTH camp too :D

Wow! Very nice :) Does it sound a lot different than the other dual pickup Wals? I assume it does...beautiful colour too. Congrats :)

Thanks! Yes the Pro's are a different animal than the Custom series Wal. The Pro's have a more traditional controls/setup whereas the custom's have a filter based controls. I missed having a Pro in the stable and foolishly let two of them go....i won't make the same mistake with this one!!!
Haven't had much time after opening her up yesterday, but hope to give her some TLC this weekend...here's more pics that i got from the previous owner....

Thats a great idea putting both clips together - although i listened to them from my laptop, i didnt have headphones on - (i will tonight)... the Pro II i liked both PU's boosted...and the MK1 i liked both PU's full and both boosted. Every tone was great but those stood out to me the most. Maybe im crazy(?) :)
