Looks like one of the 90s reissue Pro basses in for a respray; the ones with the tear drop control panel.
once you put a deposit down it locks in the current rate. @LowEndHum no need to pay for it whole. the only benefit i would see in making a whole payment is the exchange rate. so for example if you paid in full today a Mk2 for £5800 it would yield $8085 in USD. However the exchange rate changes daily between £ to $ (depending on the market), so as you make payments, you could either end up paying more...or even less.

I think it makes sense to order asap if you know you want a new one. I was looking for a long time at used Wal's and saw they were selling for round about the price of a new build, so for me it was a no-brainer. Plus it makes you feel better about making the order when the prices shoot up...
i placed my first initial deposit for my first build back in February 2015 of £500 when standard pricing for an Mk3 was £4250. I had initially thought of getting a build down back maybe 2013/2014 when standard pricing was £3650....got pissed at myself for waiting. sit on it all you want but perhaps in another 8-10 months another increase will occur - my recommendation put a deposit down at the very least and worry about final spec later.
the caveat to this though, the options may also have increases (ranging from 2%-8% from what i gathered).....so if you wanted to get gloss on the body and didn't get it spec'd out originally..... but then decided to get it later AFTER a price increase, you'll be subjected to the current pricing.... so spec it all out with everything you "might" want and cross out if need be.
You can also see the natural body hanging next to it is an early 80's Pro2 rear loaded version, it has the holes for the slide switches and toggle switch. This corner must be Paul's repair corner.
The rear loaded ProIIe goes in the rare as hens teeth category. On the one time I was fortunate to talk to Pete I think he said there were 3. I have one and wish I'd sent it over for service. Had one here that wasn't 100% successful on the refinish but plays well

I mean, for the buyer that's great...but for Wal that seems just slightly short-sighted. I know a lot of other custom/boutique builders (of various products, not just basses) whose policy is that the deposit simply locks in your place in the queue, but the final price is determined at the time of the actual build, not the time of the deposit.
