I was real close to grabbing that Wal, and I have some regret or unsatisfied curiosity from not getting it, but I'm still open to a 17mm, 10.5 lbs Wal. I used to own a couple Spector USA 5XL which were 17mm, so I know what playin a 17mm feels like (at least in a Spector).

The neck thickness was all over the place with the previous builders. And the V shape was all over the place too, one had no V at all. All my old 4 strings all had different necks.

The two Paul era 4-strings I've owned had the same exact neck and felt perfect. Makes me think Paul is more consistent, so I didn't specify anything special on my current build.
But you may want to ask him about those measurements if you're trying to stay the same or not.

+1 In my recent correspondence with Wal, Philip said their V is very soft compared to a lot of the older Mk1's, and that if I sent them my preferences for a profile, they would almost certainly match it. When I got a copy of my order sheet for confirmation, the specs of the neck profile that I wanted (thinner and flatter front to back) were on the sheet, so they can do whatever you want within reason!

agreed! all the older Wals were kind of all over the place. with my 2010 Paul era and my 2017 build, they both seem pretty comparable so i'd second that Paul's neck are consistent. On my next build due towards the end of 2018 i had spec'd it to be soft/medium V profile since two of my older Wals (poly black Mk1 and greenburst mk3) seem to have. here's a soft v profile on my maple Mk2

it is quite blasphemous, but with cost of living in CA, i bet the $ to square footage must be high and many people rely on storage to keep their gear. It's sucks that crumby people do these things. I read in a Ric forum that a guy in Costa Mesa, CA went through the same ordeal back in Dec 2016 . from what i gathered, some where found, but many are still unaccounted for.

Back when i had less 'gear' and was going through some "stuff" i had all my bass gear in storage as well. Here's a pic when i decided to give them a breather....hindsight - probably wasn't a good idea .....

from that picture...the only Wal that is still around is my flamed Mk2.
