Yeah not real sure why G needed to be wound all janky and stuff. Oh well, easy fix :-DBeauty! Please restring that g-string.
Ahh Haaaa!!! So YOU are the one that slipped this out of my fingers in Toronto!! LOL...looks great! Congrats!! I suppose i will be ordering direct and waiting the timeframe for a new one..then i will ask Geddy to sign it (maybe i can convince him to play it and i will video it - IF he will let me)... very happy for you though. All the best!!Admittedly this delivery doesn't carry quite the same electricity as I would expect in a box direct from Surrey. Someday I will know that feel... However, what's inside is something I've always wanted since I first laid eyes on one in 1991... it has been my #1 bass want.
The acclimatizing period was *excruciating*... but it is now time for the Grand Opening... Ladies & Gentlemen, may I present to you... Reddy Lee!

Yes overall the packaging was disappointing, but there was no shipping damage. This isn't a brand-new bass... it's definitely a player. But it's been a well-taken-care-of player... just some hairline polishing scratches, surface buckle rash, and a very small chip on the fingers side of the neck at the 3rd fret that won't impact playability. The gold hardware is in good shape without the tarnish and pitting that seems to be common in most gold-hardware Wals, and the caps were swapped out 7-8 years ago. There are also straplocks installed.
It's actually good that it's a player, because I won't be terrified of actually playing it hahaha.
My only regret is that I can't pair this with the black Geddy Mk1 I sold years ago... I would pay dearly to get that bass back.

Wal MkII Custom Series 5 String Bass | eBay
I remember that bass all too well.
I think the owner even wants it picked up in person too.
