Wal Bass Club.

@kulit17 you look like you need some more 5ers jeez, one lonely 5 string amongst nine 4 stringers!

i hardly play 5ers...... i also have these two 'Wicks that don't get played often too (one of em is up in classfieds now)

Nice streamer! I like the look of that one. I've always liked the idea of Warwick's but I've never really bonded with one. I've had 3 of them and I just never clicked with them. Wals and Dingwalls are the basses that really feel like home to me.

the only time you'd see a mk1 go for $4700-5100. Will be if it's a fretless, a standard facing(walnut/shedu) and in rough shape with no original wal case.
I agree, that's why I said depending on specs (fretted/fretless, facings, etc) If you look through the classifieds here most Mk1s have sold for 5000-5500. I suppose 6000-6200 isn't outrageous for a nice one in good condition.

@kulit17 that one on reverb is beautiful but 7100 after shipping is rough. Wasn't this one on reverb a few months ago? I remember seeing it. Didn't know if it sold or if the listing was just pulled

ya $7100 for that IMO is lot! i posted it in FB Wal page, but here was the previous ad of when it was located in UK:

RARE 1985 Vintage Wal Mk1 MkI Custom UK British Bass Natural Canadian Maple Burl, Brazilian Mahogany

my guess is that the seller is trying to recoup his funds including what he had to pay for customs. guess the guy didn't bond too well with the Wal??

i've been following Wal prices for years now....but ya, the "trend" for fretted Mk1 currently gone up a bit so its more like $5500-5800, with oddballs being slightly more.

just found this the other week too, which i found pretty funny.....
