Wal Bass Club.

It wasn't converted into a midi bass, it was purchased as a midi bass and used that way by Greg Lake on the Black Moon tour. There's a load of footage from the Live at the Royal Albert Hall DVD show. He used it to trigger midi modules as well as just as a bass. Dr Rob Burns (a well known name in the Wal world from the 80s) did the programming of all the synths and the MB4 module for him.

It certainly did... clearly someone realised the scope for a celebrity fast buck to be made...

Very boring and lame songs compared to the old ELP stuff....

If it was originally a midi bass, then why does the control cavity tape say that it has an ebony fretboard? And why would it not say 'midi bass' on the tape?

My MIDI bass doesn't have anything written on the tape of the control plate. It's also ebony underneath the plastic at the surface of the fretboard. Otherwise it's a semi-hollow fretboard (holding all the MIDI tech in the neck).

@zombywoof5050 my comment was meant as tongue and cheek. however your reply to @TrevorR which he already commented that the bass was NOT a conversion sounded like you had your own extensive Wal blog up and had up for years, i assumed you knew better than Trev judging by your comment and must've had at least 2 or 3 Midi Wals - so ya good day to you.

My questions to Trev were genuine questions, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't being a dick about it, so I'm sorry if you couldn't comprehend that. You can say tongue and cheek, but that doesn't make it any nicer, it was a dick move on your part and you should be ashamed.

i'm not ashamed. i know and dealt with the majority here in this club for years and they know the type of person i am. can't say the same about you though.
