Might I oblige your opinions about where you kind folk go to buy (or fantasize about buying) used Wals? Is there a place that's better than meaningless hours of searching the web places?

Nope...it IS meaningless hours spent on the web. There is no one good place, you have to search and pounce when you find it because if you dont the person right behind you will without question.
Spot on. I remember when my red Geddy Mk2 came up for sale... and it didn't come through the usual channels (eBay, Reverb, Facebook, etc.)... it was posted to the old walbassesnaturally site, and cross-posted to this Club by @SiberianKhatru (see page 355). Being my dream bass, and a dream bass for many others, I knew I had to act fast, because if I didn't, it'd be gone like a fart in the wind. I rang my wife to clear the purchase with her, and by the time I emailed (this was all of 120 seconds since I received the notification) I was already second or third behind other buyers. Lucky for me, those buyers failed to follow through. After I posted my NBD here (see pages 356 forward), @graphics1988 mentioned that had tried to buy it too, but just missed it to me. So yeah.... the demand for used Wals, especially in certain configurations and colors, is definitely through the roof. And as with anything, how badly you want something will drive how much difficulty you're willing to put up with to get it.
Here I go spamming the forums with time on my hands. One take, just a Wal and a GED-2112. Glorious mistakes and all. This is the tone that I just love from Rush circa 1986-1995.
One day maybe I'll start fixing mistakes and actually record videos of playing, but for now I'm just figuring things out one step at a time.

Alright, I have my funds right. I guess there won’t be a Wal bass that I like for sale for a year now.

No, I just thought it was funny that I got an email from reverb around 8 am and the listing was sold before I woke up
Not Wal specific but I know there are a *lot* of fellow Failure fans here, lots of great footage of the infamous silver finished Mk1 getting the Greg Edwards treatment here and...gulp...getting thrown off a ladder!
