I want to level the fingerboard on my fretless but don't know which radius curve to buy since I don't have measuring gauges.

If you want to do that work yourself I suggest you get yourself some radius gauges from Stewart McDolnald.

Hey guys, I'm back, sorry. Trying to put this baby back after the electronics where pulled and bartolini pre installed.

Anyway, I need a picture of the inside, showing specifically the pickup wires going to the board from the pickups as well as the other connection plugs. The only Plug I actually have the the one that connects the two boards. So I am missing three plugs.

Can I join? Here's my '91 lefty fretless Wal Mach I, which I bought from Steve Chesney, who probably owns/owned the largest collection of lefty Wals (or any Wal, for that matter) in the world .

Question for lined fretless Wal owners: are your side fret markers offset from the fret lines or in line? Mine are in line, which takes some getting used to since I played a defretted Fender Jazz for years. Just wondering if Pete offered them both ways.

Well, It seems there are Wal pickup plugs that have 6 pins and 5 Pins. The Pictures I got from Lowell are 6 pin, but the board I have has 5 pins. There are 6 wires coming from the pickups though. Mine is from 1993. Anyone that can help with pictures of 5 pins to the board is much appreciated.

New to this forum. Had my Wal from new - the Bass Centre in London. Bought in 1985, year it was made and signed by Wal himself. This baby is still my main working bass and regularly gigged. Mostly big band gigs these days but also a great rock bass in my younger days when I had more energy. Recently paired it up with a GK outfit (700RB + 210RBH) and Wow! They seem meant for each other (previoulsy had a Trace Elliot). Everything is working fine - never any problems with anything except from time to time the jack socket needs to be cleaned. Silent as . . . . only a Wal can be. The tonal variations are huge and I constantly seem to be finding new sounds, especially with the GK. If anything this would be my one criticism - it is difficult to quickly get the same sound twice. Heavy but very well balanced. Still looks the biz and plays like a dream although the action needs taking down a bit at the moment. I see that the prices are causing a debate, being so high, but this doesn't bother me as I will never be selling. Would dearly love a 5 string if I could ever find one, and if anyone knows of a Wal hard case I am interested.

Oh yes, my other bass is a Warwick Fortress One. Actually I enjoy playing this one too, but it only makes me appreciate the Wal more when I go back to it.
