I don't even own a Wal but I DID just buy a fresh 6'er of Scrimshaw Pilsener so I'm joining you @graphics1988 .

Now I wish I had a better understanding of which basses have which frets, might be interesting if some of the characteristics I ascribe to them align with fret material.
What frets are on a Mk1 by default?
That Quake(world) logoyeah
oh man if only I put that many hours into learning bass at that time...
... and if you haven’t ordered a new Wal yet...you’re officially insane![]()
Clear gloss?I haven't had any Mk1's in years, so with the latest price crazyness I decided to get back in line with a new build. Nothing crazy but will probably be flame maple with a gloss finish.
Clear gloss?
No, a color of some sort... I bounced a few ideas off Paul and we'll see what it gets when the time comes. With a 3yr wait, I figure I have 2.5yrs from now to decide.
Ok great. I wonder with such a long three year waiting list do you immediately have to do a down payment? What happens with the money if something happens to you or when you decide not to go on with the build after two years waiting or so?
Yes, your deposit puts you in the order que, non refundable. And at about the first 6 month mark you are required to make a £1000 payment, and thats when he actually starts your neck wood.
Is the sky falls or the earth opens up and swallows either you, me or Paul, then yiu are out your money. Thats the risk we take with custom orders.
Just go read the non-delivery threads here on TB about other builders that required the entire bass be paid up front and something happened. At least with Wal, you can wait til delivery day to pay the remainder.
