... Has anyone ever re-created the logo for such (legit) purposes?
I had a Pro paddle neck redone and the gentleman i used had these made (it was a re-creation of the JG logos - i had him flip placement and remove J.G.). he had a healthy abundance of them.
Neat! So I could potentially make use of one of those, just cutting out the "custom bass" script portion of the label... apply it after stripping and before refinishing... I assume this goes on prior to adding the coats of poly. Do you know if the "Wal" text from this is the same size as the non-"custom bass" Wal print? Looks like it is.
Just to get it out of my system... should you actually want to use the Osmo stuff, the one I've used is actually this one: Osmo Polyx-Oil - 3043 Clear Satin. I thought it was the matte one, but I just double checked and it's the Clear Satin. IMO, the perfect sheen for a neck. I suppose you could buy small amounts and try different ones on some scraps if you really wanted to give them a scientific go.

Looks like it’s been fretted at some point. On the colour… some possible thoughts… if it was one of Wal’s acid washed finishes apparently they can change colour over time. Or it may be down to colour balancing on the video - I know that on snaps on ordinary light my Schedua Mk 1 can look almost grey brown, golden brown or almost milk chocolatey depending on light, white balance and so on. Who knows. But the provenance letter seems pretty conclusive.

Well, I signed up to be notified when they open up orders again. Still hoping to get a Mk 1 fretless one of these days.
Yeah, it's god's own private mystery when they'll accept any new orders. I just hope they don't pack it up before anyone else gets to place one.
If it's any indication or useful data for anyone - I got a new order on the list in December 2020 before Paul stopped taking new orders. He told me a month or two ago that my estimated completion would be April 2024.
I snuck my order in at the end of January 2021 as well. Paul quoted my build at 45 months, and to be honest I’m almost glad I have to wait so long because, while I know I’m going to get an mk3 5 string, I’m having a hard time choosing woods.. every time I think I know what I want, one of you posts a picture and I have to rethink life
