So excited to make this post, I just got some facings choices from Paul and wanted to run them by the gang. I'm already checking quite a few options boxes, so I'm looking mainly at the top three. The bottom two are a step up in price from the top three (around 2x+), so when looking at number in upper-left of each choice, unless the wife really wants #5 I'm going with #1, #2 or #3. Leaning toward #1 or #3. For some context, this will be an Mk1 with a colored trans burst gloss overlay, so the edges will be very dark. Getting head face match too.

Special thank-you to whoever created the cutouts patterns, huge help!

Personally I like #5 a lot. Which is pretty similar in flavor to #3!

I also think quilt will look dynamite on the headstock.

Those are beautiful. I'm currently in the beat-my-head-against-the-wall mode as well over picking a facings option. I am a sucker for Birdseye, and for whatever reason am really drawn to that #2. Best of luck!

Not sure, but the jump is big enough (over 2x) that #3 being "#5 lite" to my eyes may be the way to go, if quilt is the answer.

December 2020. Wife likes #1 and #3, my wallet thanked her for that opinion before I even told her there was a cost difference. I also like #5, but after the color burst I don't think it will look that different than #3.

I like #2 and #3 since you’re getting a MK1 leaning more towards #3 will be able to get most of that Quilt in a MK1 shape.

With a trans burst with dark edges overlay, #3 would be my choice. It even looks like it was waiting for that kind of finish to enhance the figured part in the center.

I agree #2 is nice too. The one thing about #3 that I don't like is the light part at the bottom left side. But maybe that can be corrected with the finish? For the rest #3 is great.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I think I'm going with #3. Like @Les Fret mentions the grain change in the lower left is kind of odd, but my wife mentioned that as a thing she liked, that it changed up from quilt to lines a little. And the edges with that will probably be invisible with the burst anyway. I'll ask Paul if the quilting portion will be in the head facing, if so I'll go with #3.
