They have their own distinct tone. It’s hard to compare with a Wal. I don’t think they sound worse than a Wal, just totally different.

Uh oh fellas! It’s happening! I got the email from Paul today! July ‘24 at the earliest depending on the final wood selections! It will be my first Wal bass ever, I’m so excited!!!
We are all excited for you! What model and specs are you going with? My Wal ships out Oct 30 honestly the wait hasn’t been that bad until now. Now it’s like Oh $#@t how long is it going to be stuck at customs?
Good problem to have I know. Living near FedEx world headquarters. A customer of mine who works there is friends with a customs manager she said she would talk to her if it’s held up more than a week.
They halted taking any orders for the last 2 years (I think?)...so I don't think there would be any updated price list yet.

To be honest I think of all my basses that way. Even my simple jazz bass can do things that my Wals can’t do and visa versa. The same goes for my other basses too. Each have their good and weak things. That’s why I choose those specific basses. Because of the unique things they bring me. A Wal is not perfect either and not good for all things. BUT I love them and that’s why I choose a Wal, mainly because of their unique sound, not because I want an all round bass (that’s where my jazz bass comes in).
I don't think there is a price list. They're providing quotes as they confirm orders. Incidentally just confirmed my second. Should be ready aroun June '24 
How long had you been waiting to get this confirmation through for a 2nd?
And do you/anyone have a spec sheet template that you're given to choose from? Ive been on the wait list for a while now so would like to think im not too far off. I wouldnt mind being able to decide what I want now ahead of when the time comes!

I don't recall having a price sheet while working out my final specs with Paul. I told him what I wanted and I got itemized pricing on those options.
If I had a complete detailed price sheet I don't think I would post it... if Paul wanted a price sheet made public he'd post it on the Wal web site. But I don't see a problem with saying how much certain options are.

Other than choosing the basic Mk1 Mk2 Mk3 & 4/5/6, there isnt a spec price option sheet.
I havent looked in a long time, but they used to have what standard facing woods were n/c, and anything else was more or inquire.
Basically, you dream up however you want your build to be, and he will then quote an itemized list what the job is from there.

Surely you must have some idea of how you want your Wal to look?
Once Paul does contact you, it would be most efficient and best for you to lay out all the ideas at once instead of back and forth, because he can at times take 6 months to respond.
Yeah with my build, when I first got on the queue I gave specs of what I wanted. A couple of years later when he sent me the note saying we needed to firm up specs, what I wanted had completely changed (a couple of times 
). I sent him a pic of a Wal that was closest to what I wanted, then gave him the specs that were different from the picture. That seemed to work okay.
Some specs are less visible in pics, such as recessed 1/4" jack vs not, satin vs gloss, etc but if you're on this forum reading how others approached their build and the options involved you should be able to communicate what you want. And if you post pics of a Wal you like, there are plenty on here that can help with reverse-engineering a spec list that gets that.

Just curious, since my number isn't likely to get called for another couple of years for a deposit, but will they do different scale lengths? I prefer a 33" scale.
It's an odd groove and probably not everyone's cup of tea 
It’s now nail biting time my MK3 is at customs!!! I sent them all of the paperwork fingers crossed for a quick clearance.
My Wal just cleared customs out for delivery tomorrow!!! I was hoping to get it this evening, but it’s at the international hub at the airport no go . By the time I can swing by the FedEx store tomorrow It should be past Paul’s suggested acclimation time frame.
