I've owned a US Smith, nice bass and great neck profile but no where near the same universe in tone.
They have their own distinct tone. It’s hard to compare with a Wal. I don’t think they sound worse than a Wal, just totally different.

Good problem to have I know. Living near FedEx world headquarters. A customer of mine who works there is friends with a customs manager she said she would talk to her if it’s held up more than a week.Well I'm on my 5th new build, I use only gig money for gear purchases, and so I take lots gigs and rarely turn any down...I'm typically busy 2-3 and sometimes 4 days per week.[/
Iam so glad I listened to you in September 20 when you posted “if you’re thinking about ordering a Wal get you down payment in soon”. Very grateful that I was able and can’t wait to see the progress on your new one.
They halted taking any orders for the last 2 years (I think?)...so I don't think there would be any updated price list yet.Does anyone have a current price list? I asked this about a year ago. I guess nobody knows?
Thanks! I’m going with a fretted mk3 5 string, Paul and I are discussing various timbers as I’d like some highly figured facings, and we’re trying to keep it under 10 lbs as well (back problems). We are all excited for you! What model and specs are you going with? My Wal ships out Oct 30 honestly the wait hasn’t been that bad until now. Now it’s like Oh $#@t how long is it going to be stuck at customs?Good problem to have I know. Living near FedEx world headquarters. Put some new string on my fretted Mk1. Sounds great again! Here a groove in 17/8 time signature with the new strings:
You misunderstand, I dont want a price sheet, I wondered if there's an options sheet to see what all the possibilities are. Not interested in price. Already prepared for it to hurt. Haha
Very cool!
