wall-mounting a headless instrument

I've replied in another thread re/ my luck with my mobile On-Stage stand (GS7800 u-mount) and a K&M wall hanger "hack".
To avoid duplicating files on server, I will just link it here.

Necro-update: Apart from Hercules + series, I had luck with my mobile On-Stage stand (GS7800 u-mount):

The weight of the bass hanging from the hex key doesn't stretch the strings and mess with the tuning?

All is hanging on the E&D string anchors. It is a hex wrench that came woth the bass (used on truss), thin enough not to touch the strings.
I also like to imagine that Hex key is pushing those hanger posts to distribute some weight to the sides. K&M has these spring loaded and (wit the wide enough headstock) they tighten around the neck to hold it in place. I will inspect that a bit, will also try it with a chopstick.

Chopstick works fine, has enough strength. Over that span and with two string posts in between seems like its even better weight distribution. And I think Ive tried wooden one, with commonly available bamboo, slightly oblong in crossection, I would argue that it would be unbreakable (with the weight of the EHB bass).

The hanger prongs dont do much on the sides, all of the weight is on hex key and pushing the prongs from the top. The rubber coating is not showing any sign of deformation.
With chopsticks doing all the work and mechanics doing nothing, maybe I will just switch to showel hangers that I use for ukuleles...
